on being the perfect mother

First thing in the morning, I am exactly the sort of mother I want to be. I possess therapeutic wisdom, kindness, and gentleness. I can answer questions, solve problems calmly, and summon enthusiasm for any activity. (I can also compose great blog posts.)

And then I get out of bed.

  1. *nods head quietly in agreement*

  2. This made me laugh out loud! How true those words are. Followed the link from your comment on Posie Gets Cozy. :)

  3. I think it would be kinda scary if you were like that all the time.

I'm most perfect at night when I tuck into bed. Oh the energy and the creativity I have on behalf of tomorrow....

  4. My 1yr old still frequently wakes up at night, so I can't even say I'm a perfect mother in the morning...I just wish I could sleep, sleep, sleep a little longer!
But yeah, sometimes in the middle of the night when the baby is back to sleep and not me, I try to plan the day, what things we'll do and where we'll go.
But sleep depravation gets the best of me around 2pm. I feel like I become the worst mom ever and wonder why on earth I thought I was a good idea to keep them out of school and want to nap. Of course, this moment only last few seconds, and I wouldn't trade my place with any mom that has to rush her kid to school everymorning and noon.

  5. Oh gee, I am disappointed. I thought I was gonna learn the rules for being a perfect mother. LOL Course, for me it's too late. Mine are already grown and have children of their on.

  6. thanks for inspiring a chuckle
i do believe being a parent is the most challenging task there is
